Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 27, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Candid Buyer's Guide ("we," "us," "our") collects when you visit candidbuyersguide.com (the "Site"), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
We are a small, independent review site. We don't sell products, we don't have user accounts, and we don't ask for your name, address or payment details. When you buy a product we review, you buy it from the seller or a retailer, under their own privacy policy.
Summary
- Our hosting and security provider, Cloudflare, processes basic technical data (like your IP address, browser and pages visited) to deliver the Site.
- We don't use Google Analytics or any other analytics tool, and the Site doesn't load Google's advertising or conversion tags.
- If you arrive from one of our Google ads, we keep the Google click identifier in your browser's local storage and add it to our links to sellers, so we can tell whether the ad led to a purchase.
- When you click a link to a seller, the seller's platform (for example, ClickBank or Digistore24) may set its own cookies so that we can be credited for a sale.
- When a purchase is made through our links, we keep a record of the sale without the buyer's name or contact details.
- If you email us, we keep your email and message to reply.
- You can opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information at any time. We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal automatically.
Information we collect
Information you give us
If you email us at contact@candidbuyersguide.com, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and anything you write. We use it only to reply, to fix errors you report, and to keep a record of the conversation.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, some information is collected automatically:
- Device and log data: IP address, browser type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, and the date and time of your visit. Our hosting and security provider, Cloudflare, processes this data to deliver the Site and protect it from abuse.
- Ad click identifiers: if you arrive by clicking one of our Google ads, Google adds a click identifier to the web address of the page you land on (called "gclid," "gbraid" or "wbraid"). See "Google Ads" below.
- Local storage: our own script stores that click identifier in your browser. See "Cookies, local storage and tracking" below.
Information we receive about purchases
When someone buys a product through one of our affiliate links, the platform that sold it (for example, ClickBank) sends us a notification of the sale. That notification can include the buyer's name, email address and other order details. We don't store them. We keep only:
- The order receipt number and the type of transaction (for example, a sale, a refund or a chargeback).
- The date and time of the transaction.
- Our commission.
- The seller's account name on the platform.
- The tracking codes we added to our own link and, if there was one, the Google click identifier.
This record doesn't include your name or contact details. If it includes a click identifier, Google can match it to the ad you clicked.
We don't knowingly collect sensitive personal information, such as health information, and we ask that you don't send it to us by email.
Cookies, local storage and tracking
We don't set any cookies of our own. These are the tools that store or read information in your browser when you use the Site or follow our links:
| Purpose | Tool | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Cloudflare | Delivers the Site securely and blocks malicious traffic. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies when it checks whether a visit is automated. |
| Ad measurement | Our own script (local storage item "cbg_clique") | Stores the Google click identifier from the ad you clicked and the time you arrived, and adds the identifier to our links to sellers. We stop using it 90 days after your last click on one of our ads. It is not stored if your browser sends a GPC signal. |
| Affiliate tracking | ClickBank, Digistore24 and other sellers' platforms | Set by the seller's platform on its own website when you click our link, so the sale is credited to us. |
You can block or delete cookies and site data (including local storage) in your browser settings. If you do, the Site will still work, but we may not be credited for purchases and our ad measurement will be less accurate.
Google Ads
We advertise on Google. When you click one of our ads, Google adds a click identifier to the address of the page you land on. The Site doesn't load Google's advertising or conversion tags, so Google doesn't set cookies through our pages.
We use the click identifier to measure our ads:
- Our script stores it in your browser (see the table above) and adds it to our links to sellers, in fields the platform reads (on ClickBank: "extclid," "gclid" and "traffic_source").
- If you buy, the platform sends us the sale notification with that identifier (see "Information we receive about purchases").
- We report the purchase to Google Ads: the click identifier, the date and time, our commission and the order receipt number. The platform may also report the purchase to Google Ads through its own integration, using the same identifier.
We don't send Google your name, email address or payment details. This tells us which ads lead to sales.
We do not use remarketing lists, customer lists or similar audiences built from your visit to show you personalized ads.
You can control personalized ads from Google at https://myadcenter.google.com.
Affiliate links
Many links on the Site are affiliate links. When you click one, you leave our Site and go to a seller's website or a retail platform such as ClickBank or Digistore24. That platform may set cookies and collect information about you, including what you buy, under its own privacy policy. We don't control those cookies or that information. Please read the privacy policy of any site you visit or buy from.
How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- Run and secure the Site.
- Reply to your messages and fix errors you report.
- Measure whether our ads lead to purchases, and decide where to spend our ad budget.
- Receive commissions from sellers and confirm that the commissions are accurate.
- Comply with law and protect our rights.
How we share information
We don't sell your name, email address or contact details to anyone.
We share or make information available to:
- Service providers that help us run the Site: Cloudflare (hosting, security, the database where we keep sale records, and email forwarding) and the email provider that receives our mail.
- Google, when we report a purchase linked to an ad click, as described in "Google Ads" above.
- Affiliate platforms and sellers (such as ClickBank and Digistore24), which receive your click and, if we have one, the Google click identifier when you follow an affiliate link.
- Authorities or others when required by law, or to protect our rights, our users or the public.
- A buyer or successor if the Site is sold or transferred, under the same protections described in this policy.
Some U.S. state laws treat sharing information with advertising partners, such as reporting a purchase linked to an ad click, as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We give you the right to opt out of it, as described below.
Your choices and rights
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
You have the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information, as those terms are defined by California law and similar laws in other states. You can opt out in either of these ways:
- Use the Global Privacy Control (GPC). If your browser or extension sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a valid request to opt out for that browser. Our script then doesn't store the Google click identifier and doesn't add it to our links to sellers, so a purchase made from that browser can't be linked to your ad click through our links.
- Email us at contact@candidbuyersguide.com with "Do not sell or share" in the subject line. We don't know who our visitors are, so if you already bought something through our links, include the order receipt number: we will remove the click identifier from that sale's record and won't report it to Google. You don't need to create an account or prove your identity to opt out.
You can also clear this Site's data in your browser settings to remove the stored click identifier.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected about you and how we use it.
- Get a copy of your personal information.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Delete your personal information.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, and of targeted advertising.
- Not be treated differently for exercising these rights.
To make a request, email contact@candidbuyersguide.com with "Privacy request" in the subject line. Because we collect very little information that identifies you, we may ask for details (such as the email address you wrote from or an order receipt number) to find your information. You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. We will respond within the time required by law, and in any case within 45 days. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our answer with "Appeal" in the subject line.
Other choices
- Block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings.
- Adjust your Google ad settings at https://myadcenter.google.com.
Data retention
- Emails: for as long as needed to answer you and keep a record of corrections, and no longer than 3 years unless the law requires otherwise.
- Click identifier in your browser: we stop using it 90 days after your last click on one of our ads. It stays in your browser until you clear this Site's data.
- Sale records: for as long as we need them to check commissions and for accounting and tax purposes. We report a purchase to Google only if we received it within the last 90 days.
- Server logs: kept by Cloudflare according to its own policies. Information we report to Google is kept according to Google's policies.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls on our sale records. No website or transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
Children's privacy
The Site is intended for adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Some products we review are meant only for adults 18 and older. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Visitors outside the United States
The Site is operated from Brazil and is intended for readers in the United States. If you visit from another country, your information may be processed in Brazil, in the United States and in other countries where our service providers operate.
Links to other websites
The Site links to other websites, including sellers' sites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we change the "Last updated" date at the top. If a change is significant, we will note it on this page.
