Why this site exists
If you've ever searched for a product name followed by "review," you've probably seen the problem: page after page that copies the sales pitch, calls itself the "official site," and promises a discount that doesn't exist. It's hard to find a plain answer to simple questions. What do I actually get? What will I pay in total? Can I get my money back? Is this right for me?
We started Candid Buyer's Guide in 2026 to answer those questions plainly for online courses, guides and programs, the kind of products that are sold with a long video and a countdown timer.
Who we are
Candid Buyer's Guide is a small, independent site. Our reviews are researched and written by the Candid Buyer's Guide team.
We want to be clear about what we are and what we aren't:
- We are not the creators, sellers or official site of any product we review.
- We are not therapists, doctors, lawyers or financial advisers, and we don't present our reviews as professional advice.
- We don't use pen names, invented experts or stock photos pretending to be our team.
What we bring is a careful, repeatable research method and a commitment to tell you what we checked and what we couldn't.
What we cover
We review digital products sold online, such as:
- Relationship and dating guides
- Language-learning courses and apps
- Hobby courses and plans (woodworking, crafts and similar)
We'll add categories over time. We only cover a product when we can do the full research described in our method.
How we review
In short: we read everything the seller publishes, check the price, upsells and refund terms at checkout, look for independent complaints, and tell you plainly whether we bought and used the product. Claims we can't verify are labeled as such.
How we make money
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you buy through them, we earn a commission. You pay the same price. Sellers can't pay for reviews or better verdicts, and we publish the cons of every product, including the ones we earn from.
